We have a double garage at the back of our garden. Since we moved in our plan was to convert it into a playroom/homeschooling room for our children. The garage was not used for anything other than storage, as it was in a bad state of repair - the roof was rotten and leaking. This is how the garage looked before the conversion.

The builders took no time to rip down the roof, and remove all the windows and brickwork that would not be needed.

The walls are built higher.

They start to put the roof on.

The above view of the roof with two skylights.

The back garage door is removed and bricked up and the floor is damp-proofed. Work is started on the roof.

The roof is completed and the skylights are fitted.

Structures for walls are put in place, and electrics are put in. Floor is screeded.

Plastering is started.

French doors and windows are put in.

Walls are painted and tiles are put in.

Outside lights are put up.

The carpets are fitted and Michael begins to build all the furniture for the playroom.

Toy storage and curtains.

Bookcases are built.
