Snow in Richmond Park

Later in the day on Monday, we drove to Richmond Park. The place was packed with people in the jolliest and happiest moods ever, it was fantastic, the fun and excitement was contagious. A lot of people had not gone to work on Monday, and there were many families there, having loads of fun sledding, having snowball fights, building snowmen and generally having a ball.
This was a snow man built just as you get in the gate, we were staggered at how big it was.
People were arriving all the time, it was really busy.



Eden was ecstatic most of the day.
The top of the hill, from where everyone was sledding down (they had made sledding paths through the trees).

The snow was so soft and lovely to be in, the girls couldn't stop lying in it, diving in it , sitting in it and rolling in it.
I laughed so when I saw what people had brought to use as sleds, here they used an upturned table. Others had brought "for sale" signs, traffic signs (no doubt stolen), big turkey roasting pans, trays, baby baths, hard plastic sheets, boogie boards....

Jude standing next to a huge snowman built by a pair of Albanians, apparently it had taken them two and a half hours, and one of them wasn't even wearing gloves. They said they had not seen snow like this in the last 6 years.
Jude was carefully making his way down next to the sledding path, it was really quite slippery.
