Ciara in hospital

We woke upson Sunday morning to find a piece of hair tightly wound around Ciara's middle toe so tightly that it had cut deeply into her toe and was red swollen and infected. We took her to hospital, and they cut out the hair with a sickle scalpel which was excruciatingly painful for her. They noticed that the cut had gone right down to the tendon, so we have been referred to another hospital to see an orthapaedic surgeon. We felt terrible that we had not noticed sooner, but the nurse assured is that it probably got this bad in one day. The second hospital we went to had the plastic surgeon and orthapaedic surgeon looking at her toe, and they decided that they wanted her to to undergo general anaesthetic to completely clean out the toe, and make sure no hair was remaining which would affect the healing.
Daddy took her in for the general anaesthetic, good for mommy because it would've been to hard to see her little girl taken away to theatre. Here she is after she woke up looking a bit groggy and worried.

She has a massive bandage on now which will have to stay on to keep the toe completely clean while it heals.

Hello little Ciara,

I hope your toe is better now.

Nana is sorry that you had to suffer all that pain.

Love you lots and lots.
