Victorian Day

The children have been so excited for this day to arrive - A day out at the Victorian museum to re-enact a day in the life of a Victorian child. They had ordered some Victorian outfits with their pocket money, but unfortunately they did not arrive in time, so they pulled clothes out of their wardrobe that reminded them of Victorian fashion. Niamh made the picnic lunch and off we went.

When Eden and Niamh came out, they were brimming with excitement. They really loved the play acting. Eden apparently laughed in class and had to stand facing a corner holding a wooden block behind her back for 25 minutes while she memorized a map on the wall. Then she got one of the answers wrong so had to wear a dunce hat. Other boys were taken outside to be "caned" and all the children felt the wrath of the teachers one way or another. During the lesson they learnt a lot about the Victorian era, and really want to learn more at home.

Eden and Niamh went in, and we headed off to the playground. The Victorian museum was located in Gunnersbury Park and what a beautiful park it is, I will definitely be bringing Michael here on a sunny summers day.Jude and his friends pretending to be on a pirate ship.

When we got home, the outfits had been delivered. The girls were so excited to put them on.
They are desperate to learn more about Victorians, they enjoyed the day so much so I know what we will be learning about next :D!
