We had Ciara's party planned a whole week after her birthday because of the previous weekend's wedding. What a great thing for us, because the temperatures hit over 30 degrees and we were able to plan for a lovely braai.
She had asked for a mermaid cake many months ago, which Mike and I really looked forward to creating. She woke up and when she went down to see her cake, she had that lovely, fully of wonder face that is so priceless.

It was so cool making a blue cake for Ciara, especially since she is such a pink girl, but the pink cake on her birthday made way for a great blue castle.
Shells, starfish and lobster were all made with candymelts, my new favourite birthday party ingredient.
Eden and Niamh got onto the job of party games and craft preparations, making silver plates for the jellyfish craft!
