A climbing party

Niamh has not been sure of what cake to have for her birthday. I knew that Eden and Niamh are very interested in cartoon animation, particularly the style of manga, and I know they also enjoy a top trump game based on the moshi monsters. So when I was looking for some cake inspiration, I came across a moshi monster cake, and it all fell into place. The one I saw had the icing of one large cartoon moshi monster on, but Niamh wasn't really sure about choosing just one. Michael(my trusty cake decorating sidekick) had woken up at 3am to go to work, and he said that he wouldn't have the energy to help me that night, so we did what we have never done before and left the cake creation until the Saturday. We went to bed really early, and then woke 5am the next morning to do the cake. It was fun to make, it turned out bright and very cartoony, and had a lot of the moshi monsters on the cake. Niamh was extremely chuffed.
Eden, Niamh and Jude have loved climbing ever since they tried it a few years ago, and Niamh had her heart set on a climbing party, so we booked the climbing wall for 6, and were pleased to find out they do a special climbing party session.
Michael picked all the girls up, and I stayed at home to make the food.

They got there early so had to wait a bit for their session.
So Michael had them doing a lot of fun things.
Niamh and her friend Annie from gymnastics showed their routine to the others.
The climbing wall is actually pretty high.
Mike got them doing some running races.

Photo finish(this was the first outing with our new camera, so lots of photos were taken).

Then their session started, and they had to do a bit of training first.
Niamh got to go up first.
Not scared at all.

Next was Eden.
Even Mike got a go.
And down he abseiled.
Niamh climbed to the top twice.

And touched the ceiling.

They all headed home after a lot of fun and a new experience for all the other girls. They were buzzing and soo happy when they got back to our house.

After some party food and games they had the cake.
