We went to Kew Gardens to start our new study on Trees, and were so pleasantly surprised that it was the "Year of the Tree", with many exhibitions, tours and guides all about trees. The main feature was by far the huge Treetop Walkway that they have erected which allowed us to actually walk high up in the tree canopy and see the trees from a totally new perspective. I have bought a season ticket which will allow us entrance to Kew Garden for a year (the children get in free), and that for double the price of a day ticket. (Watch out on the children's blog for our tree study).
We all managed the 118 stairs up to the treetop walkway.
Mom was feeling very giddy at this height - kids didn't seem to be affected.

We finished the day off by all hugging a Beech Tree - and yes it does feel kind of nice.
