Jesse Tree Decorations

The littler ones have been busy making their Jesse Tree decorations this week. Eden and Niamh are really familiar with it, so they have got on with other art projects and Christmas card making while Jude and Ciara make the decorations, but of course they still listen to the readings each day. And they have really been enjoying the book below, which I have read daily. The story is of an older man who is carving a beautiful Jesse Tree in a church, when a young boy who has never heard the stories in the Bible comes in to the church and starts to ask the man questions. The old man does not like to be interrupted, but the young boy wants to hear the stories so much that the old man starts at the beginning with creation, and each day the boy comes back to see more of the tree carved and to hear the next story.

Ciara has been thrilled to make something new (nearly) each day.





And just to prove, Jude who normally doesn't like crafts has been enjoying them too(I think because they are quick to make)....
but he is the next Macneil to catch the reading buy and he quickly returns to his books.
