The children had their year end concert in the church that they practise in. They sang about 8 songs, and I have included two below. We got a nice surprise to see that Eden was chosen to do a bit of a solo piece again. The teachers also sang songs of their own - their voices are just beautiful and they are so energetic and fun, such a lovely positive environment. We also got to hear the senior choir perform their pieces. It was a long evening for them, especially Jude as they had to be there at 5 to rehearse, and then their concert started at 7 and we were home around 10. Needless to say we all had a very good lie in the next morning. The exciting news is that they will be entering a BBC choir competition in February next year, so a lot of excitement for them.
This song is The Dolphin Song, which has being a huge hit in our house. Ciara and Ayla know the words to it too now and join in, and Eden has learned the piano part. They enjoyed singing it at the Homeschool Concert this year too, and it really sounded lovely. Look out for Eden doing her solo bit.
The following one is in Latin - Hodie Christus Nast Est, and I was quite surprised that the teachers taught the kids this, but they handled in beautifully, I looked up the English translation:
Today is Christ born; today the Savior has appeared; today the Angels sing, the Archangels rejoice; today the righteous rejoice, saying: Glory to God in the highest. Alleluia!
