We planned to go to the famous Spanish village of Rondo with its well renowned white wash wall houses. The village was quite a long way away, and Penny said that Gaucin is also another good Spanish village to visit and it was not too far at all(actually just at the top of one of the mountains surrounding our valley). So off we went for a day journey up the mountain...
We were advised to park the car before we got to the main village as the streets get too narrow to drive cars through, and parking becomes difficult.
Parking outside the village gave us the chance to walk through and get a good look at all the houses and streets.
Mike asked me to pose against the wall, so this one is for you mom, you are always asking for a photo of me :D
Once we had walked through the entire village we got to the side where the castle was. By this time it was sooo hot that I did not want to do the big climb to the castle, but Mike pushed us on and I am glad he did.
We took this photo from halfway up, our yurt is right down at the bottom of the valley, just left of the centre of the photo.

We went a bit further up the mountain to a smaller village and found this restaurant that Penny recommended to us. The views from the restaurant were incredible, truly a lovely experience. We were also treated to some lovely Spanish cuisine, although we did not go for the special of the day which was a dish with lambs lung.

Thanks for the picture of you Fi, very cute. I see what you mean about narrow streets, looks as if you could touch hands if you reached across from the windows.
