We had a lot of marzipan over from the danish pastries, and I knew it wasn't going to last for long in the cupboard and was wondering how to use it when I remembered a chocolatier shop across from the place I worked used to sell marzipan in chocolate and it was a big hit with all who worked with me. So we got the dark chocolate melted and Niamh and Jude had great fun making the marzipan balls and rolling them in chocolate. The balls were such a big hit they only lasted two days, very moreish indeed.
How lovely it was to see more snow falling this week, there is something so magical about staring out the window and watching it float down. The first day of snow was not a lot but the children still enjoyed playing outside.
The children managed to make a little snowman.
We then decided to go for a walk down the street, there seemed to more snow out here than in our garden. Ciara made it to the end of the road and then got a bit fed up with how difficult it was for her to walk in the snow and wanted me to carry her, so we turned around and walked back - my tummy is too big to carry her far so we couldn't carry on. The others were disappointed, they wanted to make it to the park.
Niamh always seems to be carrying a huge piece of snow.

And then home for some hot chocolate and marzipan balls, I don't think I have appreciated our warm house as much as I have in the past few days, it is sooo cold outside and the house is so toasty and cozy to be in.
The next day the snow came down really fast and thick for most of the day. We enjoyed watching it from the playroom, but by 4pm the children really wanted to go out and play. They got absolutely drenched in the snow, and came in an hour later for a nice warm bath.
