Family Braai!

Lise, Will and Barbs organized a family braai for us on the first Sunday we were there. We went off with Barbs to Rosebank fleamarket in the morning - this used to be a regular place for me to go from about 19 so it brought back floods of memories. Niamh was the only one who wanted to come with, so Eden and Jude stayed behind and spent some time with their cousins! We had tried to meet up with Beth Woollacott this very day, but lifts were complicated for Beth and we couldn't seem to get it right, and such was our surprise when she phoned us at the fleamarket saying she was there and had just bumped into Barbara. It was lovely to see her after all these years - we saw her and the family last when Jude was very small. We then arrived at the braai a little late due to getting a bit lost on the roads back from Rosebank.

Sitting around catching up with family. It was so lovely finally meeting Vicky(in front with the black top on). She is Mike's step mom's daughter-in-law and we have chatted and got to know each other on facebook so it was lovely finally meeting her face to face.

Eden somehow got hold of blue colouring and painted it all over her body - she got so many jokes her way about being an Avatar girl.

Baby Ayla with the dummy supplied by her Nana Jojo. I must say this dummy really came in useful on the long car journeys when Ayla got a bit fretful - she hasn't found her fingers yet so this really helped. We haven't used it again since we got back to the UK but it was well used in SA.
We had lots of fun with this "helicopter" that we bought at the fleamarket. It needs to be rolled between the hands to gain rotation and then it behaves like a helicopter and flies up in the air, the adults enjoyed as much if not more than the children.

Grandad Tony with Mike's gran Flo, the children's great Grandmother. It was great to see her again, she headed back to the UK the following day so we were fortunate to see her.

Another attraction of the day was this water spray which the kids had to run through. Niamh is waiting for the water to be turned up.
