Niamh goes to hospital

Niamh developed a mucoid cyst in her bottom lip about 6 months ago. At first we thought it was just an ulcer so left it for a few weeks, but soon it started growing bigger and we took her to the doctor. It has taken about 3 - 4 months to get her a date for surgery through the NHS, we did consider going private at one stage but we knew that would be very expensive as she had to go into theatre and under general anaesthetic, so although the cyst grew quite big it was never urgent for her and she finally got the surgery she needed.
She had to be at the hospital at 7:30 which meant leaving the house at 6:30 so Mike took her through by himself. She really loved spending the whole day at hospital with just her and daddy.
They put this cream on and left it on for about 3 hours which anaesthetizes her hands so that she did not feel the injection.
Ready for theatre, she looks a lot happier than Eden would've been in this situation I can tell you. This photo breaks my heart, I know it was not anything serious, but it makes me want to bundle them all up and protect them from anything that will hurt them.
Awake and finally enjoying a meal after 1pm after not eating anything since dinner the night before. Mike said she gobbled it all up and really enjoyed every bite.

Hi Neevy,

I'm so glad you have had your cycst removed. You were so brave, and look so grown up in your hospital gown.

Just love your face paint too.
PS There was an article
about a Snow Leopard in the Times Magazine, they are beautiful animals. Lots and lots of love from Nana.
