When I sift through the photos from our visits to Kew Gardens it is always so difficult to leave some out as all the photos are so lovely. It was amazing to visit it again at this time of year, this place has such a special energy and beauty and peacefulness to it altogether, we always arrive full of excitement and leave rejuvenated, what a wonderful place on this earth full of God's amazing creative and artistic powers. This place is also linked in my memories to our family as we always visit it with them when they come over, so it also made me feel sad that they could not enjoy it with us at this time. Dad we would love you to come over this summer if you can make it :D
I love how the children are all dressed in bright t-shirts which match the burst of colour of all the flowering bulbs.
We played a game of who could remember and identify the trees without the giveaway of looking at their leaves.
And explored all their buds(which we never did last year). I really appreciate the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason, and so many things she has said sticks in my mind, on this occasion it was this one: She wholeheartedly believes in children spending a lot of their time exploring nature, and encourages them to spend a lot of time in the same area getting to know it intimately observing how it changes throughout the year so they can see the same trees, shrubs, flowers in different seasons, and I really feel that this is what Kew Gardens is for us. The children notice more and more each time we go, and as they learn more so their capacity grows to take in more too.
Eden with some blossoms in her hair, we used our imaginations and wondered how it would feel to get married in amongst all these blossoming trees with all their wonderful pretty blossoms all over the ground.
You can see Niamh's lip is still swollen from the surgery.
So many areas to inspire photography, I loved how this tree was so absolutely stark except for the bright pink buds flowering even before there were leaves.
The girls spend most of their energy running to the trees they don't know to read the name of the tree, Ciara got in on the excitement too.
Holiday time means there are activities on as well as facepainting. This is Ciara's first time to have her facepainted, she sat ever so still and managed to get through the day without smudging the paint.

The new play area is complete now, and Ciara got stuck right in to the climbing frame, not put off by the bigger children, I love how tough she is.
Lovely big slide, Ciara did try this one, but a boy came down straight after and ended up kicking her in the head, so she headed over for another slide and stuck to the straight one.

She really enjoyed going on this one again and again and again.

Fiona it is nice to see the faces of Kew as it passes through the seasons. The children so enjoy these visits, and just seeing Kew is one way to tempt me over there.
