Getting a kindle

Being on holiday and watching how many books the girls read made me think that there must be a better way than carrying around one (large) suitcase half packed with just books. It had never occured to me that children could read an e-reader, but then why not. So it was a great blessing that Grandad Tony gave us all pounds on the last day we were in SA, and so that went straight towards buying a kindle. To our delight all the classics are free, so (for Grandad Jim), we have so far downloaded

A few of the Alexander McCall Smith books (ladies detective agency)
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
The complete works of Lucy Maud Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables Authoress)
The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales
Little Women
The Picture of Dorian Gray
A few picture and chapter books for Jude
The Tail of Emily Windsnap

These are keeping everyone busy for now, but I do need to download more free classics.

The girls reading it together - they have been great at sharing it, but it would be good to get another some time in the future.
Jude has been reading his daily readings to me from it, and this has made him more enthusiastic to read more.
It is not in colour, but that is pretty much what the display looks like.
But sometimes it is still great to sit around a book and enjoy it together.
