Grandad loves Kew Gardens as much as we do, and Niamh had been saying "I simply must get to Kew Gardens", so we spent the day there on Saturday.
Ciara wouldn't sit still for this photo, but then that is nothing new, my dad is convinced she has ants in her pants because she does not sit still for a minute.
As usual Kew Gardnes surprises us, and I had to admit that I never knew how pineapples grew until we saw them in this display. They had mixed all sorts of different plants among their flowers, and explained how manking has used them in the past and now, plants like cotton wool, the agave plant, flaxseed, and ginger, there is always something educational here.
The palm house and gardens are looking splendid at the moment.
Kew Gardens is 250 years old, and there are many of the original trees still here.
The altitude house, a new part of Kew Gardens we had never seen.
Inside, the altitude at mountain height is created to grow all the plants and flowers that would grow very high up, it was quite chilly in there too.

Ciara was very chuffed that she got this lemur at the gift shop. Dad had said he would pick her out a soft toy of her own(she loves soft toys), she immediately chose the lemur and nothing else would do.
