Christmas Day
Finally Christmas day arrives - a month of buildup for the children since we have been looking at the story of Christ's birth every day of December. Mike and I woke early to get the house ready, prepare the vegetables and turkey and waited for the children to wake.
So much excitement to see all the gifts.
Jude on his bike!!!!
Ciara is really into Maisy mouse, so was very chuffed to see her in one of the presents.
Niamh pleased with her calculator, and Jude with a new puzzle.
Batman!
Eden was quite emotional about getting this Game console - Nintendo DS. We have always told her that it is way too expensive, but were able to pick it up at a fraction of the cost off an auction site. At first she didn't believe it was the real thing, and only when she open a doggy game that goes with it was she convinced.
Ciara hasn't stopped playing with these Winnie pooh toys since she got them.
By the time presents were unwrapped I felt really drained an nauseas after feeling a sore throat coming on for the last two days, so we decided to take it easy and not go to church. The children watched "The Nativity Story" which they watched last year too, but this year Jude got a lot more out of it, especially after all the stories we have been learning this month. This version is so real and really takes you back in time to how it must've been for the Jews living under Roman rule, a very emotional story.
We shared a lovely lunch with family. Spreading the cooking over the three of us really makes for an easy going and enjoyable Christmas with a lovely diversity of flavours. Grant and Linda brought a friend along from their church too.
The cousins opening presents after lunch. The presents were so thoughtful and lovely, just shows how well the Aunts and Uncles know their nephews and nieces.
This was such a hit with Eden, she couldn't have been happier to get a stick insect kit as a present.
Playing the game "Tummy Ache" together from Uncle James and Aunty Lana.
I think Jude has done this puzzle about 10 times since we got it yesterday, Ciara has done sections of it too, but she has not managed to finish the whole thing quite yet.
