An unexpected change of plans

We set off today to the Natural History museum in London (we'll be doing a lot of museums as long as the weather is this cold), with a very excited Eden, Niamh and especially Jude to see the big dinosaurs. When we got there, we were bowled over by the length of the queue which went on and on. We knew how busy it would be inside (uncomfortably), so I mentioned that the war museum was a bit further down the road, and we all were enthusiastic about going, but ended up going into the wrong museum entirely. We ended up at the Victoria and Albert Museum, which is apparently the world's greatest museum of art and design. http://www.vam.ac.uk/
It certainly was different, with works of art from every nation and culture across history. We all loved the Japan section with all the Samurai swords and outfits, and there was a great room on the history of photograpy, with some spectacular photographs. Again we could not take photo's indoors, but came outside to discover this very soothing display of art and sound, we got some interesting photos, and again Mike and I enjoyed the architecture of these old buildings.
This display had speakers attached to this light source that changed with the music.

Once we had finished at the V&A Museum, we did go into the Natural History Museum but couldn't stay for as long as we'd have liked, so that means another trip into London soon.

Eden gasps at this representation of the sun as a watermelon and earth as big as one of it's seeds in comparison - the first time she has grasped how big the sun is compared to earth.
This was a great display of earth rotating while the sun shines on, Eden could also clearly understand now how some countries are experiencing night, whilst other are in daytime.

All in all it was a lovely day, we do love museums.
