Niamh's Gymnastics Championship

All the squads have been practicing their routines for a few months now, so the anticipation for both parents and children has been building for a long time. Michael and I have not seen Niamh doing any gymnastics for about 7 months, as parents are not allowed to watch while the lessons are on(apart from the paying day once every 2 months, which we have missed). We were so amazed at her improvement, she held her body with such lovely poise and was so controlled, and she knew her routines so well.

Warm-ups.
Lining up for the start.
Niamh doing the arrange - which tests strength and form.
And balance.

Running for the vault.

The beam routine - doing a cartwheel.
Niamh in the front.
The floor routine was set to music, and they each had to perform it individually. Here Niamh is doing a forward walkover.
Lining up at the end to wait for the judges to announce the winners.

Niamh's face was one of such amazement when they announced that she was 2nd She was beaming from ear to ear up there on the podium. We were so happy for her, and afterwards she told us that she was so happy her legs were shaking. Niamh we are so proud of you!
