Walking up Box Hill

We set out for our first trip to Box Hill on Bank holiday Monday. Heavy rain was forecasted and it was very cloudy when we woke up. It rained when we left the house and Michael said, why are we going to Box Hill we are not going to be able to see much, but by the time we had got there the weather had cleared and it turned into a lovely day. It was nice driving up, and picturing Grant and James' duathlon, wow they must've suffered up these hills.
Again Ciara did not want to be carried(we had to abandon the push chair up this rocky slope). Even though she kept falling backwards not being used to walking on an incline she kept on getting up and walking again and again and again.
She didn't even want help over these tricky roots.
Niamh running on ahead, I asked her if she wanted to be first, and she replied, no I just want to feel free.
Finally we get the top.
A lovely view.
The girls enjoying the feeling on top of the hill.
Having some fun with my big sister.
Eden discovered that chewing grass is quite sweet.
We have started studying wildflowers too, and Niamh has already picked up some that she would like to know the names of. Of course we know that these are buttercups.
We went to the coffee shop at the top, and bought Ciara some chocolate - she had a chocolate feast. We also bought two fantastic books on tree identification and wild flower identification, which helped us with some flowers we had seen on the way.
This was the view driving back home, there are some lovely walks down at the bottom which Eden is desperate to go on.
