A wonderful answer to prayer

First of all, sorry to everyone for not giving an update on my dad sooner, so many things have transpired over the last few weeks and it has been an emotional rollercoaster for the whole family. Yes, we have been trusting in the Lord for all of this, but still we have human emotions. The worst news we received a couple of weeks ago was that my dad would need to have both his legs amputated at the knee. This was indeed devastating news. When most of us think of my dad, we know how very active he is on his legs for his age, he walks everyone to a standstill. He is always taking the children for "wee" walks to the park when he is visiting, and he walks all over London nearly every day of his stay, so yes very sad and shocking news for us all.

But fortunately my dad received a second opinion before he went forward with this operation, and this doctor thought he could clear the veins in my dad's legs by performing an operation similar to an angioplasty to clear the veins in his legs, and thereby increase the bloodflow down his legs and into his feet. They have also administered him with injections to clear the veins. After he went in for the operation, the results seemed to be quite immediate. He awoke with a lot less pain, and the nurse performed some doppler tests and things seemed good. The doctor then came around and said that he only managed to clear one leg and couldn't get down into the other, but was happy that my dad felt less pain in both legs, this was a very good sign that the blood was flowing better. The biggest struggle for my dad has been the excruciating pain that he has gone through over the past few weeks, and one can well understand how this amount of pain can make everything seem so much harder to bear.

Well after the success of my dad's treatment, he has now been moved back home after being in hospital for weeks. We look forward to him getting better and the most exciting thing for us is that my dad has now decided to move to Scotland to live with his brother, so he will be so much closer to us and a short plane trip away.

So many people have been praying for my dad from many churches, and although we know that this has been very hard for my dad to bear, we know that the Lord uses these things to draw near, and so we pray that my dad may know the Lord in ways that he never has before and that he would be ever closer to Him. The fact that my dad's legs were not amputated is a wonderful answer to prayer and we have been rejoicing in our wonderful Lord who answers prayers so amazingly!
