Our neighbour was getting a new shed put in, so he had to take part of our fence down. We decided it would be a good time to get our very old fence replaced. It was actually quite lovely to have the fence down and get to chat to our neighbours more often. And since the neighbour next door to our neighbour was doing all the work he had taken a section of his fence down too for easy access, so we got to know these neighbours too which was so very lovely. It is amazing how much these fences block us off from our neighbours.

We saw a lot of our next next door neighbours as their little girl really enjoyed coming to play so would often saunter over, and then mum would have to come and fetch her again. Mum is pregnant and expecting in October, it was great to chat to her about births, and I was surprised to discover that she has also requested to not see the midwife we had a problem with with Ciara(we had also asked not to see her for our pregnancy with Ayla).
Lorna is the same age as Ayla, so a lovely playmate for her, although Ciara was really taken by Lorna too and spent a lot of time playing with her.
Our smart new fence is up.
The rain came pouring down on Sunday, but we were determined to have our braai. Michael managed really well by pulling the weber under the outdoor umbrella. Eden had made the bbq sauce for the chicken marinade, and the chicken was so lovely I even had my first bit of chicken in years. Somehow braaied meat is so much more appealing in smell and appearance than any other, I just couldn't resist and it was so very tasty.
