A nice long bike ride and walk

Mike and I had a lot to do this Saturday, but it would've felt terrible to be indoors all Saturday when the weather was so glorious outside, so we headed off to Bushy for an ice cream and a bike ride.
The children set out, and saw some deer really close up.
We stopped for an ice cream and a sit down. Niamh gave Jude a push up an incline he couldn't quite get up, and it turned into a game.
Setting out again. This route always brings back memories for me of the Bushy 5km time trial run.
The girls normally cycle so far ahead so that we can't see them anymore and then head back to join us, needless to say they end up cycling a lot further because of it.
Getting of the beaten track.

And a pond was the reward.
We came across this beautiful heron in the middle of hunting for food in the pond, he was standing dead still, so we waited for a while to see if he would catch anything and were rewarded with seeing him catching something which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy chewing on.
Ciara's hair has gone really light this summer.
All the kids just enjoying being out in the open and beside a pond.
Ciara trying her hardest to pull out a piece of grass to chew on.

Finding some spearmint near the pond.....
and letting little sister have a smell.
Our little Suid Afrikaner who prefers walking barefoot, a thing that shocks the Brits no end.
On the way home the same deer were eating from a couple, so they gave Eden and Niamh some food to eat. Niamh had just been telling me that she had never been able to touch a deer, so was so pleased that she got to touch one today(and then was worried that no one would believe her).
Eden ran out of bread and started feeding them leaves.

O Eden I just love this picture of you feeding the deer, who lovely for you too.

These pics of Bushy are just too precious.

Ciara, your nana loves walking barefoot too, and it is just like seeing Fiona as a baby you are so like your mom when she was a baby.
