Grant and Linda booked a camping holiday, and then invited us to join them too. The spot was highly recommended in a camping book, in fact as one of the authors favourite camping spots. It is on the South Coast of England, just outside Weymouth, Dorset, and is on a working farm. The campsite is only open for one month of the year - August, and was fully booked out.
We arrived on Sunday, and chose our spot, close to the toilet, drinking water and not too far from the showers. The two fields closest to the beach did not allow cars to be parked, and so we went for the field one back so that we could keep the car next to us. We were fortunate to arrive when the campsite was not too full as we got to choose this lovely spot with a great view.
We had bought a new tent for the trip. We had been given one by our friends which we had used before, but we had outgrown it and knew that it wasn't very watertight. Michael is sussing out how to lay down the tent.
We got the main poles in the middle up a lot easier than I expected. I had read the reviews and got the impression this was the most difficult part, we wouldn't have done it easily without the help of tall Eden going inside the tent and pushing up the poles where they cross over whilst we positioned them from the outside.
The Russells arrive a little later.
Our tent fully put up, boy were we chuffed with the size, design and even my favourite colour.
The Russells set up right next to us, and in no time our first bbq dinner was on the go thanks to Grant.
Inside the tent, very spacious.
I love the carpets inside, it made it so lovely for the children to sit down on, and for changing and dressing Ciara.

On the way to the beach, mom stayed at the tent while Ciara had a nap.
A very calm, clear blue beach with pebbles.
And it didn't take long for the kids to strip down and jump it even though it was cold.
